Founder of Rollover and ScentAir
David founded Rollover in 1991 & grew the company into the UK’s largest Hot Dog company, supplying 79 of the top 90 football stadia, 9 of the top 10 theme parks, cinema chains, and supermarkets including Sainsbury’s & Asda.
By August 2006, when David sold his company to Piper Private Equity, the company had grown to sales of £10m & EBIT of £1.7m p.a. Or to put it another way…. 47 Rollover Hot Dogs were being eaten every minute of every day.
David founded ScentAir UK in August 2008 and built it into the largest provider of air scenting systems in the UK, prior to selling it to Scent Technologies of America in July 2014.
David has acted as a Non-Executive Director in many other companies including:- Active FM Ltd (2016-present); Instant Offices (from 2007 until December 2012 when Instant was sold to MML Private Equity for £26.5m; Riverbank IT Management Ltd (2011-2016); St Neot’s Eversley Limited (2011-2017).
He has received many business awards including:
- An honorary doctorate from the University of Roehampton, London in 2015 (having chaired the RU Business School’s Advisory Board from 2010 until 2017)
- The Institute of Directors’ Entrepreneurial Director of the Year, 2003.
- The Lloyds TSB Award for Outstanding Management, 2005
- Parcelforce Small Business of the year, 2004.
