Running Athlete - Chair of the Commission of the UK Athletics Athletes’ Commission
Hannah England is a product of Dame Kelly Holmes’ mentoring scheme and she produced a finish the two-time Olympic champion would have been proud of in winning World Championship 1500m silver in 2011.
Hannah England was elected by her fellow members as Chair of the Commission of the UK Athletics Athletes’ Commission.
Formed with the purpose of ensuring athletes voices are heard by UK Athletics’ Performance Oversight Committee and the UKA Board, the Commission is populated by current and former athletes from a wide range of athletics disciplines, each of whom have competed for British Athletics in the last six years.
A silver medallist over 1500m at the 2011 world championships, England will serve as Chair of the Commission for an initial term of four years, while she will also become a member of the UK Members Council as a representative of GB & NI athletes.
annah, who is married to fellow athlete Luke Gunn, went out in the semi-finals at London 2012 but bounced back to claim fourth in the 2013 World Championships.
In 2014 she made the final but failed to claim a medal in both the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the European Championships in Switzerland.
